| A Policy Review of health care insurance under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is at the conclusion stage and would end up either with many provisions of the National Health Insurance Act, 2003 (ACT 650) being amended or a complete repeal of the Act to pave way for a new legislative framework for health insurance in Ghana.

STAND UP TAKE ACTION AND BE COUNTED |

| The Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) a member of the Ghana Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)/GCAP Campaign for the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals on Friday October 16, 2009 held a Stand Up and Take Action activity for workers of the Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) and the TUC. The activity, an Awareness creation on Standing up and Taking Action had participants appending their signatures to large banners as their commitment to fight poverty.

| The Third World Network (TWN) Africa has held an Africa-wide dialogue on Gender and the Global Financial and Economic Crisis for Gender Activists drawn from Academia, Civil Society and Non-Governmental organizations to brainstorm how the Global Economic meltdown has impacted women in Africa and suggest remedies to address the emerging issues.
