- To unionise all workers in Ghana under a united trade union movement.
- To secure social, political and economical justice in Ghana and ensure that works benefit from these through collective action.
- To support efforts of affiliated unions to improve wages, shorten hours of work and create better conditions of service at work places.
- To assist affiliated unions to undertake collective bargaining on behalf of workers.
- To support the promotion of work efficiency and improve productivity at work places.
- To protect, strengthen, presever and develop traditions and institutions of democracy and to secure fully the rights and liberties of workers.
- To promote national freedom, human rights and world peace.
To ensure the ratification and application of ILO and other international conventions with the view of harmonizing world labour practices sensitizing public opinion, both locally and world-wide in favour of acceptable trade union practices.
